Unemployment Deferment

If you are working less than 30 hours a week and are conscientiously seeking full-time employment, you may be eligible for an unemployment deferment.  This deferment postpones payments due on your student loan account while you seek employment.

This deferment is available for up to 24 months (two years) and must be renewed every six months.

If you have loans that are serviced by more than one servicer, please print a form for each servicer and print the name or your servicer on each form.  Mail your completed form(s) to us at:
